Sub-account

A sub-account is a separate margin and position container under the same Hyperliquid master wallet.

In short

A Hyperliquid sub-account has its own balance, positions and margin state while remaining owned by your master wallet. HyperMirror assigns one sub-account per mirrored leader so their positions never net against each other.

What isolation buys and costs

Isolation gives you clean per-leader attribution and prevents accidental exposure cancellation, so a leader's realised performance in your account is measurable.

The cost is margin fragmentation: capital committed to one sub-account cannot cushion another's drawdown, which is deliberate — a leader's failure stays contained.

Practical implications

Keep your own discretionary trades outside the mirrored sub-accounts, or they will interact with a leader's exposure.

  • Separate margin per sub-account, all under your own wallet.
  • One leader per sub-account in Full mode.
  • No cross-subsidy of losses between leaders.
